Throughout the last academic year our pupils at both sites have had an additional offer to their timetable. They have been extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to work with the team from The Dallaglio Foundation, who work with PRU’s across London to deliver a Rugby Programme, which develops self-belief, opportunities and support to young people from all backgrounds.
Our pupils have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and those selected attended tournaments against other PRU’s from across London. The pupils gained many skills from this additional offer and were a credit to Francis Barber when representing us at the tournaments.
One of the highlights of the year was the Foundation organising an onsite coaching session with Rio Ferdinand who plays for QPR football club and played as part of the England National football team, 81 times. The pupils were completely engaged throughout the session and it was inspiring for them to spend time with Rio, who used his experiences of growing up on an inner London estate to develop strength to pursue his dreams!
