On Thursday 12 January Francis Barber year 11 GCSE Drama students took part in a theatre trip to the West End to see the award-winning play “School of Rock” at the New London Theatre. The play is based on the 2004 film of the same title and has conquered the hearts of audiences across the Globe.
After a successful run on Broadway, the play moved to London this year and features a cast of talented young people who act, sing and play instruments. This is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new smash hit and we hope that seeing these talented young people would be an inspiration for Francis Barber students to reflect and learn that everything is possible in life and no matter how old you are, if you work hard, you can achieve your dreams and succeed.
Students’ behaviour in the theatre was outstanding. All students sat quietly and enjoyed the performance. Some students even took notes during the interval to use them for their Drama controlled assessment. Students are at the moment in the process of writing a 2,000 word review of the play for their Drama coursework. Ramla got lucky and managed to get a selfie with two members of the cast. Well done year 11’s and good luck in your assignment!
