Poetry Escape – Young Writers Competition

Five pupils recently had their poems published for a competition Poetry Escape.

The theme allowed pupils to express through poetry something they felt strongly about. The pupils chose a theme close to their heart and released their thoughts and emotions in different styles.

Jabari – (aged 13) Grenfell Tower

Ellie P – (aged 13)   Society in Real Life – Housing

Billy C – (aged 13) Why Do I Have to Go to School?

Dylan W (aged 12) Bike Life

Jay Josiah (age 13) Bikes up, Knives Down

Pupils received a copy of the published book Poets from London

‘’I was very impressed and proud of the way my students used poetry to express their inner feelings about topics they felt strongly about.’’ Noreen Jones

I hope they continue to write poetry and explore the world around themselves.
